VIE Velo is a wonderful Edinburgh based community cycling group that gets visually impaired people back on a bike by pairing them up with sited riders.
The brief was to create them a simple yet striking logo that is accessible to both sighted and visually impaired people.
I achieved this by using simple, geometric shapes and lots of white space to create a high contrast. The addition of the two V's in the bike is another nod to the group, however it was very important that the design could still be understood and appreciated by people who can not see this detail.
The bold sans serif font used was chosen as it is one of the most accessible to the largest number of people.
I can't wait to see the riders out and about in their new team uniforms!
